is currently a hot topic – and not just in the cultural sector. There's plenty of national debate and schemes but few programmes that explicitly address the needs of leaders in rural areas.
West Mead Creative conceived and managed AMONITE – Dorset’s very own cultural leadership scheme. Everyone who participated in it was successful in the Arts Council of Entland's National Portfolio application process.
The programme was funded by the Arts Council’s Cultural Leadership Programme, the Fine Family Foundation and the Dorset Strategic Partnership. We are investigating ways to continue the programme and take it further.
Ros is a qualified and skilled Action Learning trainer and West Mead holds a portfolio of support tools for individuals wishing to pursue a programme of personal and professional development. As cultural leaders ourselves, we know the importance of maximising your strengths and giving yourself time to address the bigger picture issues – a luxury many leaders can rarely afford.
Oh, and by the way - AMONITE stands for
A Action Learning
M Mentoring
O Outreach
N Network
I Investing in people
T Training and
E Enterprise
And yes, we know about the missing M!
