Ros Fry started her career stuffing envelopes at The Commonwealth Institute, a museum in London about non-western culture. She worked her way up to become head of marketing, press and sponsorship before moving on to mainstream culture as Senior Press Officer at the Southbank Centre. Turning freelance she worked in arts marketing, journalism and academia. Moving to the South West in 1994 she devised the first arts marketing courses at Dartington College of arts and dozens of CPD courses. She has trained three thousand students, artists and arts managers, run two literary festivals and curated a creative industries exhibition. Ros is a qualified Relational Dynamics Coach and Action Learning facilitator and was nominated for the Woman of the Year award for her work in making the arts more accessible. Ros has a first in BA Hons Media Studies from the University of Westminster .
After graduating from Sussex University with a degree in American Literature, Chris Huxley pursued a short-lived career in fringe theatre. In 1983 he joined Battersea Arts Centre as an outreach worker under the inspirational Jude Kelly. He progressed to the radical arts team at London Borough of Camden working on small community-led projects alongside major international initiatives. Chris moved to London’s Southbank Centre as Outdoor and Foyer Events Manager to develop the world famous open foyer policy. Chris took over the reins at Bridport Arts Centre in 1995 – the ultimate ‘hands on’ arts management experience. Twelve years later he left it as one of the most vibrant and respected arts organisations in the South West.
Chris is a Senior Lecturer in Arts Management at Arts University College at Bournemouth where he teaches strategic arts management, fundraising and cultural trends.
